Comfortable but stylish is my number one rule.  This collection of outfits are a must for me.  Continue reading for more information!

My first style favourite includes a simple t-shirt, jeans and a nice boot.  A colourful jacket will complete the look.

A very nice coat is essential in a woman's closet.  Make sure that the jacket is well fitting. Also make sure that it has some shape to show off your curves even with those extra layers.

Dresses are not just for special occasions or the summer.  Try pairing a beautiful dress with tights and a simple shoe.  This is a simple yet beautiful outfit for a night out.

Heating Bag

Heating bags are my saviour.  I often keep one on my stomach and a second on my back.  The heat is an obvious way to help the cramps because as you may know, cramps are caused by your muscles flexing a bit too much for our liking.  If you apply heat to the area, it will help to relax those muscles.

Chocolate

I had to put this one in.  For all you, normal people, who enjoy chocolate. (Yes I do think that people who dislike chocolate are aliens), don't be afraid to treat yourself a little bit.  Chocolate is well known to be able to lift up a persons mood.  I know I personally get less than pleasant at this time and so my boyfriend will often give me a chocolate bar to make me less cranky. (I can't complain.  I know I can be a bit of a cranky monster and well he is giving me chocolate. Yum).

Midol

Medication that is specifically made for periods.  In Canada, the product is called Midol.  This is the absolute best thing that was invented after chocolate.  Often times, cramps are associated with back pain.  I find regular pain medications do not help for the widespread pains.  Also, the product has caffeine which is known to help.

Hot Tea

In the same category as the heating bag.  It feels great to have the warmth of a drink sit in your stomach.  It is also relaxing.

Epson Salt bath

Epson salts are salts that you add to a hot bath.  These salts will modify the rate of osmosis in your cells.  Yes, it's a bit sciency, but let me tell you that it works.  As an athlete, I often took these baths to reduce the swelling of my muscles as well as to reduce the pain.  As the water is drawn out of your cells at a quicker rate, it allows your body to replenish itself.  Yes: epson salts are SAFE.  Try to take an epson salt bath when the cramps are really bothering you, and trust me, you will notice a difference.

Periods are unpleasant, but at least there's a few things that we can do to make things a little bit better.

1.  Conscious Packing -

Make sure to pack enough clothes but do not over pack! Bring good walking shoes and one pair of nice heels.  Bring clothes that are not too tight that you can walk for hours in.  Also, bring tops and skirts/longer pants for entering sacred areas such as churches.

2.  Be a local not a tourist

I'll be honest, people do not act the same way to tourist compared to locals.  I live in a very very touristic area and honestly we don't like tourists all that much mostly because of their driving or mindless walking around town.  Also as a tourist you are the prime victim of pick pockets.

3.  Meet locals and especially the bartenders

The first day that you are at the hotel, introduce yourself to the bartender and tip them well at the end of the night.  The bartender will be able to give you some more information about where to eat, what to go see and they will give you more of an experience.  This is because they are not required to

Morning

Well, I try wake up at around 9:30am.  Say hi to my cat Indie who was sleeping next to me all night long.  Indie likes to cuddle and to give very strong headbutts to the underside of your chin. Ouch! Next, I drag myself to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee.  I am the worst at making myself coffee - forgetting about it - reheating it about 3 times, and end up not drinking it.

As I am wasting a good cup of coffee, I sit outside with my laptop.  I begin by watching youtube videos, checking out pinterest and Facebook, and finally I look at the local news.  After a longer period of time than I would like to admit. I go to my bathroom and begin to get ready for the day.  I will then jump into the shower and depending on the last time that I washed my hair I will do that.

Afterwords, I wrap my hair in a towel and enter my bedroom.   I will usually end up choosing sweats, a t-shirt and a hoodie to wear.  In the later portion of the morning I enjoy studying outside. I mean, I don't exactly enjoy studying, but I do like to be outside, so I mind-as-well enjoy part of it.

Afternoon

I am currently taking four courses which includes: Immunology, Evolution, Human Anatomy, and Medieval Art.  I do enjoy these classes but they do come with a lot of work.  Today, I am working on all four classes.  I am completing my readings for the week and I am working on a project in Evolution.

For lunch, I often make a sandwich or an easy pasta dish like the one from "Easy Pasta Dish".
By this point, I really begin my day.  Wether it be to hangout with my friends or boyfriend, go shopping, to the beach or go into town.  Other times, like today, I stay at home and listen to music while reading a book on the deck.

One of the things that I am trying to improve is to have more "fun".  I know that college is supposed to be one of the most exciting times of your life. But I seem to have so much trouble with it.  I often feel as though my life is school.  Hopefully this blog will encourage me to do more exciting things that I will be able to blog about.

Evening

For supper, I join my family for the meal.  Depending on the night I may or may not cook.  Most often if I do cook I will make something vegetarian since I hate touching meat.  Although on occasion I will make steak since tongs are all you really need.

After supper, I will either go out with friends, often to go play pool or stay home and have relaxing night to myself. Other nights, I will watch more tv shows on netflix than I should.

Hello!

This is my first blog post! Exciting! I should probably start by saying welcome and a little bit about myself.  My name is Sarah.  I am currently a fourth year biology major.  I have always been interested in creating my own blog but I was never able to fully commit to it until now.  Today, things are less busy and so I feel like it's my time.

Topics that I will be talking about in the future include:  Makeup, Fashion, Food, DIYs, Activities and much more!  I have a whole bunch of post ideas including routines, instructionals, and reviews.  You'll just have to wait and see what is coming soon!

Bonjour & Welcome

Hello Hello! My name is Sarah and I would like to welcome you to my blog. Here you will find a ton of information on beauty, lifestyle, travel, and culture! All articles are written in french and in english. Although french is my first language, I have lost most of it. This is partly why I am creating a bilingual blog. It's to not only practice my french but also a place to reach the french community here on the big internet. I am sorry for my grammar both in english and in french but I try.

Bonjour!
