I'm very lucky to say that I travel a lot. This is a wonderful privilege and I am very grateful. I make one trip to Europe every year from Canada. From these trips I have discovered many tips and tricks. I hope these are of use to you!
1. Pack Less - This is a great tip because often times you will do a little shopping on a trip and realize that you really don't have enough room. What I like to do is to - put clothes in my carry on so there's even more room my suitcase.
Also, little travel laundry detergents are great to bring - especially if your going on a longer trip. They will allow you to pack less.
2. Be Very Nice to the Bartender - at your hotel. The best trick is to give them a generous tip on the first night of you're trip and they will become your best friend. They will tell you about the best restaurants that locals visit and all sorts of different information that you may not get otherwise. The hostesses or front desk agents must give you information about business that pay them for there advertisement. Sometimes they will be good restaurants but in my experience - they are really bad. The bartender however has no such commitment.
3. Get Groceries - Travelling is very expensive. Eating out at a restaurant can be over 100$ a day. Often times I will get a small selection of groceries (fruits, vegetables, yogurts, snacks) for breakfast and/or lunch. This will save you a lot of money and will help you stay healthy during your trip.
